Luxury Lounge @ Miele

Being a senior female member of the family has some responsibilities too. And when you are a shopaholic, it’s a big responsibility to shop for the appliances too. Mostly male members take care of home appliances shopping, but when it comes to shopping for kitchen appliances its entirely my decision. You see, after all its gonna be us, the female members who are going to use it. You very well know that it is a tough job.

I recently happened to visit a German home/kitchen appliances manufacturer, Miele’s luxury lounge at the Plaza Mall in Gurgaon and the moment I entered the lounge, I felt amazed. I got sure that my appliances’ shopping blues will disappear here. It definitely was a great place to shop for a refrigerator, dishwasher, range, vacuum cleaner, ovens etc.

I couldn’t believe myself that such a store with so many wonders existed. I simply went through an extensive eye opener tour of the lounge, and the explanations of each product by the staff made my brains stuffed more n more with information. Whether I am buying a Miele product or any other brand (for the price factor), I think I should be checking out the specific factors explained here every time.

Let me talk a little about the various Miele products that I learned about:

I just loved their refrigerators, which were a big step up from my Godrej fridge back at home. They had a slim and effective ice maker saving a lot of space, the lighting inside is great. They were running silently, maintained perfect temperature and above all it was a super energy saver. It supposedly consumed almost half the power units as compared to my Godrej.

The Dishwasher was awesome. It had a top rack for flatware and utensils and almost everything comes out sparkly clean without any prior rinsing. It was also very, very quiet. I also loved that it was using residual heat and a fan to dry the dishes. Also, with this drying system, plastic items actually get dried, unlike with our old dishwasher. The layout is completely flexible, so you can fit anything in it. It only uses about 4 gallons of water, and because there is no heating element for drying, it uses very little electricity.

They also have a unique appliance on display, the Wine Conditioning system.  Almost looking like a normal single door refrigerator, it provides precise temperature control and humidity and is vibration free to enhance the shelf life of different wines.

I was very pleased with Miele Induction ovens too. Specially designed to suit Indian style of cooking, they also had kadahi shaped induction sets.  There was so much to love them, super fast heating, instant temperature control, easy cleaning, etc. There were a variety of ovens on display. Microwave combination ovens, Steam ovens, Steam combination oven, and the ‘Food Probe’ which tests the meat or other foods etc. and wirelessly communicates with the oven.

Various other products – everyone on my Wanted list were on display e.g. powerful chimneys, hobs and hoods, Vacuum cleaners, Coffee making machines, ironing stations etc. As I went through the tour, each and every product pulled me towards itself, but the price tag pushed me away. You see, I currently don’t have the moolah to buy expensive appliances though I am in love with Miele products. Yeah they might be expensive but they are so worth it in the long run. Yes man, Miele is just great!

The lounge is in form of a posh kitchen, a live demonstration of each and every machine functioning is performed by the staff and the chefs. I also attended one such demo and tasted Mushroom puffs, Rice with a Paneer dish, and a veggy pizza for the main course meal, Choco-Lava Cake for Dessert and Cafe Latte for the beverage.

A little about Miele now:

Miele is a 115 years old company and have always defended its motto ‘Immer Besser’ (English: Forever Better).  Miele is a is a German-based manufacturer of high-end domestic appliances, commercial equipment and fitted kitchens. Recent Addition to the Miele family:

Recently Miele have introduced a  Gas Combiset CS 1021 G,  specially designed for Indian culinary needs. With a wider space and a larger heating area it helps in easing out a housewife’s work.  It has a dual wok burner, the CS 1021 G which ensures powerful  heating in a very short span of time.  It has the unique Miele’s philosophy of hassle‐free working – a single handed operation via rotary dial and QuickStart that does not require any pressing and holding of the knob to get started!

Your safety is ensured at all times as the gas flame gets extinguished automatically by a draught or spillage due to pan’s boiling over. There are many more features in this combiset, and you have to go out yourself and explore the features at Miele’s lounge.
