At the hustle bustle of East Delhi Rajouri Garden, we witnessed yet another launch of a theme restaurant- DRAMA UPSIDE DOWN BAR..- the entire feel to the place is cool and quirky and fulltoos drama.
As we stepped in we were instantly charmed by the drama in the interiors, every décor item were displayed upside down –be it the innumerous lamps on ceiling, the fully loaded bookshelves, aquarium or the racing car on display, as a part of décor.
Drama is spread over 3 floors and a roof top, each floor have a different theme and one can select the sitting according to the ones mood, this interesting space also have interesting selfie spots for selfie obsessed people
We were also amused by a fresco depicting famous Monalisa after 4 drinks adding unique character to the quirkiness.
I also loved the bright colorful and comfy sitting arrangement which did not follow any rule and had a mix n match kind of a feel.
DJ playing foot tapping music through entire evening really enhanced the whole dining experience.
Let’s talk about food:
Menu was extensive with very amusing names like whattsapp kababs, twitter tangri etc and the staff very attentive and efficient. the first thing I ordered was Mocktail- Green Dolphin- khuskus Sharbat mixed with aam panna with rock salt was refreshing .we also tried Orange blossom and midnight summer both were good.
All the three Mocktails were simple with basic flavors and were very refreshing.
For the starter we had-
Railway cutlet –they were crisp from outside and soft from inside and mild on my taste buds, we also tried Whatssapp kababs ,they were harayali kababa with cheese filling and served in a upside down umbrella. Soya chap were good n spicy. We were also served with Kurkure tandoori Panner- panner tikka roasted and garnished with spices was juicy and well prepared and were served in cage.
The hero of starters for me was Piping Humus Monaco with pizza like presentation and was absolutely delicious in taste n texture. We also liked tandori dry kabab style Manchurian which they called here Tanchurian.
For the mail course we called for Dal makhani, Kurkure Paneer Labalab and Muttor Mushroom with Laccha parantha
Laccha parantha was perfectly mad and very interestingly presented, where as veg preparation were just about ok.
Now was the most awaited time of the meal –dessert time! And we were served with Lava Brownies – brownie with vanilla ice-cream, served on a sizzler plate. Next was Grilled Paan and being a Paan fan, I enjoyed this meetha paan immensely. We also tried raspberry rassagulla platter with artistic presentation of sliced rassagullas, garnished with nuts- it was light, soft and a welcome change over regular heavy and rich desserts
Drama upside down bar is a cool place to chill out and party.
