I recently was at Imperial Spice at CP New Delhi. This is a new restaurant being added to the Delhi Connaught place. The décor is pretty inviting in dark tone with chandeliers and Laser cut metal patterns infused in Interiors.. Imperial Spice is on the first floor the ambiance is chic, stylish and elegant. The place stands up to its name “Imperial” in the feel. The staff is pleasant and ever ready to serve and please the guest with a smile.
The menu primarily is epicurean cuisine with a lot of authentic as well as fusion recipes.I was happy that they had a lot of vegetarian options for a veggie like me..
Let’s talk about food:
Talking about the food now; we tasted a few dishes from the exhaustive menu that they have. As usual I started with mocktails and tried Orange Blossom in Imperial.
I loved the drink and enjoyed the Masala Papad along with .Mocktail was refreshing and I enjoyed the chunks of orange and lemon and sweet and tangy flavor.
As soon as I finished my papad I was served with Gari Infused Mon chow soup .soup was light spicy and full of flavors .the pickled ginger served along with enhanced the flavor.
Next was a Silvanus, a salad platter- .pomegranate, sundried tomatoes ,celery all interestingly mixed together to a very crunchy fresh and healthy salad option. Must have all diet watcher.
We then tried excellently prepared and a very innovative paneer tikka , yes folks it was Paan panner tikka .one of the chef’s special, softness and juiciness enriched every bite ,each piece was rolled in a paan leaf which added the awe factor in terms of presentation as well as taste.- Amazing paneer tikkas Indeed.
Next we tried the Panko and Wasabi Mushroom. It again was very well presented and was spicy and tangy, I loved this take on Mushroom dish.
We then ordered another exclusive masterpiece; Quinoa Broccoli ke Shammi
The presentation was awesome. And taste wise it was mild and rich.. The green and white combination was amazing and the softness of the flavours enhanced the whole experience..
Usually we skip the main course but the chef bombarded our table with inviting dished difficult to resist and we relished the amazing papad Mangory ki subzi, rich, kofta curry, amazing Dal Makhania, Soya Katori three pepper along with soft Naan and Veg Briyani
.Papad Mongori was my favorite .
Now it was time to devour the desserts and we were served with Chocolate rabri- it was a treat to chocolate lovers like me .
Next was a rare combination of Gulab Jamun with custard with a twist- Gulab Jamun And Custard Pudding was creamy and jamuns melted in the mouth.-a great dessert I must say.
Next was Lahsuni Kheer – ufff the fragrance-heaven but I was so full that I could not even taste it –so next time.
Fine dining Restaurants like Imperial Spice satisfies all your senses and the awesome experience one have it here in terms of food ambiance service pulls you back every now and then.
A re-visit is a must.
